Sample preparation for test of vessels used in food production (ISO 8391-1): Wash vessel in a dilute decon solution at approx. 40°C, rinse with tap water and distilled water, and dry with filter paper. Add acetic acid solution corresponding to 2/3 of the total vessel volume and boil under cover for 2 hours. Stir solution and transfer to plastic jar for analysis.

Sample preparation for test of vessels in contact with food (ISO 6486-1): Wash porcelain with hand dishwashing liquid, rinse with tap water and distilled water, and dry with filter paper. Leach the porcelain in 4% acetic acid and leave under cover for 24 hours at 22°C. Stir solution and transfer to plastic jar for analysis.

Sample preparation for lip test (EN 1388-2:1995): Wash cup with hand dishwashing liquid and rinse with distilled water. Leave cup upside down for 24 hours at ambient temperature in a Petri dish filled to level of 20 mm with 4% acetic acid. Stir solution and transfer to plastic jar for analysis.
